Research Paper

I am currently working on a 10 page research paper for my history class. I am writing about how several wives from the Middle Ages influenced their husbands. Once I started researching all the information for it, I felt like it was inspiring and it was kind of fun. It wasn't just a boring paper that had to get done, but it was a story of the past. Three out of four wives married pagan kings but through their witnessing and prayers, they were led to the living light. I'm sure not many of you recognize them but they are: Bertha, Ethelburga, and Clotilda. Even though they lived so long ago, it is so interesting to imagine what their life was like. The other wife was Eanfled. She was the wife of King Oswy, who was responsible for the Synod of Whitby.

The Synod of Whitby was held in Hilda's double monastery in 664 A.D. Because Eanfled was converted through Roman monks, her calender was different than her husband because he was brought to faith by Celtic monks. When she would be fasting for lent, Oswy would be celebrating Easter. No couple would want to live their lives like that. That is why he called the synod.

I feel like I am about to type out my entire paper!!! I already have more than 6 pages done, but I need to go back and adjust the footnotes. When my paper is finished, I might post a page or two...just in case some other kid out there needs more sources for their paper on the same topic. I feel like a "mini-expert", as my teacher calls it. Hopefully I will get an A on this. It is due this upcoming Wednesday so I better get working!!!

Sunshine...

Recently I chose my favorite childhood song: You are my Sunshine. I got a clarinet music book for Christmas and it had that song in it. I looked it up and I was like, "Whoa, I love this!" So here are the first set of lyrics. I know there is more to the song, but this is all I remember:

One of my favorites!!!

Ok so I absolutely LOVE music!!! I have so many favorite songs it's hard to chose my top favorite. But on of the ones that is in my tops is Beautiful, Beautiful by Frabcescs Battistelli. I'm not sure how to embed a video yet, but I'll post the YouTube link for a video. I have a couple of her songs on a cd and I listen to them over and over and over!!! The others are Forever Love, This is the stuff, & I'm letting go. I REALLY want an iTunes gift card for Christmas so I can buy more of her songs. She has an amazing voice!!! And her sings can be so catchy. My 2nd favorite of hers is I'm letting go. When I got the cd (mixed with other songs/artists) I literally listened to the same cd about 10 times. I love her music...

Running: Should I start????

So my friend from Chicago is a talented young girl who LOVES to run. She even has her own blog which she talks about mainly running and other things. She inspired me so I think maybe possibly I'll start walking/jogging/running in the mornings or nights. It would keep me in shape (hopefully) and I could take my dogs with me as their nightime walk. I get tired very easily but I'm sure I could survive long enough to burn a couple calories. Over the summer I played softball, so I lost alot of weight. I also play soccer once a week and I played volleyball earlier in the fall. Hopefully by spring I'll be able to fit into a size smaller. I think will be my goal: to drop a clothing size once or twice a year. :) I have always dreamed of being super skinny like almost all of my friends but never suceeded. My closet is so jam packed right now. A couple of weeks ago I had washed all my laundry and put it all away so that way there wasn't ANY of my dirty clothes. I had so much stuff I had to go hunt for hangers in my moms room! It was crazy. So anyway, back to running. My weekly goal is to run at least one mile a week. Or even each day, if I have time! Pray for me! I hope this all works out!!!

A long break...

My life has currently been overtaken by school, chores, Sunday school memorization,sports, and other family events. I have been SOOOO busy and really don't have alot of spare time. I just finished my volleyball season. We weren't very successful but our coaches were really good! They used to be professional players. I think I am good at catching on to sports once I learn how to play them properly. I found out I have a really good overhand serve! Alot of the girls are still doing underhand and do it pretty well! I am TERRIBLE at underhand. I did one during the game It would not be pretty.

Yesterday we had a thunderstorm! It was so awesome! I love rain and lighting. I kept trying to get some pictures of lightning strikes. I got one but it's blurry. Although you can see the thin lightning line. I think that might be one of my proffesions when I'm older: a storm photographer.

In my Sunday school class, we are memorizing the book of James. It has 5 chapters. I currently only have 4 verses down but I'm trying to catch up. My teacher expects the firt chapter down by the end of November. I have to memorize other verses for a history class. So it's kinda tricky sometimes.

Birthday gift!!!

My early birthday gift from my dad that I got in February was a n iPod Touch 4th generation!!! It's so cool!!! And I've many good apps on it that are very useful.

Really funny joke!!!

There's this plane and it's about to crash. There are 4 passengers and only 3 parachutes. First passenger says I'm a leading heart surgeon my patients need me he took the first parachute and jumped. The second passenger says I'm a rocket scientist one of the smartest men alive my country needs me. He takes the second parachute and jumps. The third passenger is pope John Paul and he says to the fourth passenger a 10 year old boy scout son I'm old and frail and don't have a lot of time left go on and take this last parachute. The 10 year old boy scout says Sir don't worry about it there's two parachutes left ya see the smartest man alive just jumped out with my backpack.

Today is my birthday!!!!!!

Ican't believe it! I'm finally 14!!!! Yay!!!! I'm so excited!!! I got an iPod as an early gift in Feb. Iam about to open some more gifts soon!!!!!

Life update...

I've been so busy with family life and school and chores that I rarely have time to post anything. There's a letter that I wrote I've been meaning to post but I just haven't had the spare time. I'm currently working on The book of Philippians (in the bible). There are four chapters and I passed for chap 1. I only have about three weeks left to memorize the last 3 chapters. So that pretty much takes up any extr time. The reason I have such a short amount of time, is because I didn't set aside the time to memorize when my Sunday School class started in early summer. Hopefully by next week, I should be able to post my letter. My classmate wrote the cutest story and me and my friend were cracking up while he was reading because it was so funny. He claims that his first book in his series is almost complete. Trust me he LOVES writing!!!
